Growth Screening Test

According to the WHO, only one in ten children exercise regularly and a majority of them do not follow a healthy diet. Major reason is the wide acceptance and availability of junk food as can be seen from the popularity of fast food chains. Even local foods such as fried noodles, friend rice and snacks are laden with fat and calories.

Growth monitoring involves changes in a child’s physical development, by regular measurement of weight, and sometimes of length. It is an important tool in individual care, for early detection of health and nutrition problems in growing children. Deceleration in linear growth at an early age has been shown to be associated with increased risk of subsequent mortality. Indications of growth failure alone are not readily related to specific causes, and often more information is needed to decide on the response. Growth monitoring also has the advantage of recording responses to intervention. In general, growth monitoring may provide for earlier detection of the need for intervention than one-time screening measurements. Moreover, the trend measurement can distinguish children of adequate achieved size who are running into problems.

Vision Screening Test

vision

Vision Monitor Software is independently validated by the Medical University of South Carolina’s Storm Eye Institute for Scientific Accuracy & Reliability. Healthy vision is essential for children to achieve their full potential in school and life. With up to 1 in 4 children having vision disorders, our eye testing software strives to dramatically improve the quality and availability of vision screening to ensure that children struggling with vision problems are identified for the follow up care they need. Because vision changes throughout the school-age years, we strongly recommend that all school-age children receive vision screening annually to facilitate timely and effective treatment.

The software offers three tests including visual acuity, depth perception, and colour vision. The software accurately detects all of the prevalent and severe vision disorders affecting school age children. It also fully automates data collection and reporting and integrates into electronic health and student records systems. The system generates printed reports which can be sent home to parents of children screened to inform them of whether their child “passed” or is “referred” for a full eye examination. It has developed a way to make vision screening accurate, affordable, and therefore as accessible as possible.

Balanced Diet

Human body comprises of water, fat, protein, carbohydrate and various vitamins and minerals. A balanced diet is one that provides the necessary nutrition for proper functioning of the body. Proper care for balanced diet is important because all organs and tissues of a body require proper nutrition to work effectively. Without good nutrition, one is more prone to disease, infection, fatigue, and poor performance. Children with a poor diet run the risk of growth and developmental problems. Bad eating habits can continue for the rest of their lives. In order to get truly balanced nutrition, one should obtain the majority of your daily calories from fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Protein is essential for making muscle, minerals making bones strong, body fat stores extra energy. It’s most important to have right amount of fat, protein, carbohydrate and various vitamins and minerals.

When it comes to a healthy diet, balance is the key to getting it right. While sometimes low on the list of student priorities, being smart about food has many benefits. Eating regularly and choosing healthy portions of nutritious foods means having more mental and physical energy, feeling good and enjoying better health. Based on the age of the kid, the software gives a complete solution to provide nutritious diet with required amount of calories, proteins, carbohydrates and minerals. It also suggests the quantity of food required in every daily diet.

Physical Activity

Regular physical activity in childhood and adolescence improves strength and endurance, helps build healthy bones and muscles, helps control weight, reduces anxiety and stress, increases self-esteem, and may improve blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

Physical activity is any form of movement that uses energy. People of all shapes and sizes and abilities can benefit from being physically active. Some physical activity is better than none and the more you do the more benefits you gain. In fact, regular physical activity has been shown to prevent the development of heart disease, stroke and certain forms of cancer, three of the most common causes of death. Exercise and sports can also help increase bone density and aid in the prevention of osteoporosis, which can frequently strike elderly women and some men. Certain mental health conditions, such as depression and anxiety, can also be managed through participation in sports and exercise.
